30th Anniversary Commissions

To celebrate our 30th Anniversary in 2025, Spread the Word have commissioned a series of new writing, to be unveiled at Deptford Literature Festival in March 2025.

We have two strands of commissions for London-based writers: 

Emerging Writer Commissions, open to unagented and unpublished writers from underrepresented backgrounds.

Deaf and Disabled Writer Commissions, open to writers facing disablist and/ or audist barriers. 

Each programme offers mentoring and support to the commissioned writers to develop their work, as well as career development opportunities.
