We’re delighted to be supporting Inkandescent with their call out submissions for Mainstream – an anthology of stories from the edges. This collection will bring thirty authors in from the margins to occupy centre-page.
They’re looking for high-quality, original and unpublished short stories from writers at the beginning of their careers. They welcome writers who identify as BAME, and / or LGBTQ+, working class and are particularly interested in hearing from mature emerging writers and those with health conditions or impairments.
You’ll be joining Elizabeth Baines, Gaylene Gould, Golnoush Nour, James Maker, Jonathan Kemp, Julia Bell, Keith Jarrett, Kerry Hudson, Kit de Waal, Leone Ross, Juliet Jacques, Neil Bartlett, Neil McKenna, Padrika Tarant, Paul McVeigh and Philip Ridley, who will have their pieces published in the anthology.
Selected authors will be paid. The deadline to submit is 31 July 2020. To find out more about the eligibility criteria and how to apply for this opportunity, head over to their website: https://www.inkandescent.co.uk/mainstream
