A free festival celebrating the creativity and diversity of Deptford and Lewisham through words, stories and performance.
This years festival theme is: Unheard Histories, Untold Stories.
A programme of workshops, talks, walks and performances will take place in spaces across Deptford. All the Festival workshops are open to writers with different levels of experience – from regular writers to complete beginners. Access is at the heart of Deptford Literature Festival. All in-person events are BSL interpreted and online events are captioned.
The festival Marketplace will take over the Foyer of Deptford Lounge. Here, you can get to know local publishers and community organisations, meet our festival authors and buy copies of their books from our partners The Word bookshop and Round Table books.
Our programme of Children’s and Family events features a number of events suitable for a variety of ages, ranging from 3 – 15 years, with free healthy snacks available for children attending these.
All events are free but booking is essential.
