Join us for a free Online Q&A on Writing Non-Fiction with bestselling author Angela Saini.

Angela Saini is an award-winning journalist and author of non-fiction bestsellers including Superior and The Patriarchs. In 2025 she was also one of the judges of the Wellcome Collection Non-Fiction Awards.

In this online Q&A she will talk about her own experiences of developing as a non-fiction writer, getting her first book deal and navigating the publishing landscape. The session will be chaired by Spread the Word and will include some tips on communicating your ideas effectively and developing your own non-fiction ideas. There will also be time for you to ask Angela questions on the non-fiction researching and writing process.

This free event is part of the public programme for the Wellcome Collection Non-Fiction Awards.

Angela Saini is a journalist and author based in New York. She teaches science writing at MIT and is a Moynihan Public Scholar at CCNY. Her work appears regularly in National Geographic, Science and Foreign Policy. Her 2019 book Superior: The Return of Race Sciencewas a finalist for the LA Times Book Prize, and her latest, The Patriarchs: How Men Came to Rule, was a finalist for the Orwell Prize for Political Writing. Angela has a Masters in Engineering from the University of Oxford.
